Author Profile: Alex (Japanese Field Operative)
![]()
Alex prides himself on having consistently listened to just about every genre of Japanese music since arriving in Japan in 2001. His first trip to Japan was much earlier, during the reign of SPEED. As a result, his love of Japanese music was heavily influenced by the three most famous pop producers of the last 10 years: Komuro Tetsuya (Amuro Namie, Suzuki Ami), Hiromasa Ijichi (SPEED) and Tsunku (Morning Musume). He arrived in the country as a fan of Tsunku and his runaway train also known as Hello! Project. Diving deep into the world of idol music, Alex went where no gaijin had gone before. He hopes to contribute some of his more shocking experiences with fans that can best be described as: incredibly devoted. While Alex still enjoys the occasional Tsunku tune, he has most recently been listening to more fresh acts, both rock and pop, such as Bennie K and Tokyo Jihen. Other favorites include X-Japan, L'Arc~En~Ciel and Bump of Chicken.
