Translated By: Brian Stewart &Takako Sakuma Translator's Notes: *s! * 1 - Chika Chika Cha was Boo's interpretation for the sound a DJ makes scratching any other ideas? The Japanese was bunshaka I wonder if that "Bunshakalaka" song has anything to do witht the Japanese? Hmmm... * 2 - The Japanese used in the next part, gyaru refers to a woman who is in her mid twenties or so, who still dresses in the fashion of a younger set. Dyeing her hair, wearing tight fitting clothes and platform heels, tanning skin etc. * 3 - parapara is a recent (late 90's) Japanese phenomenon that began in European clubs. Its a form of dancing typically associated with gyaru, in which the arms move in exaggerated ways but the legs remain in a side two or three step pattern. The dances are done in clunky disco era platform heels and sandals thus the lack of footwork. * 4 - A yukata is the traditional summer kimono often worn at festivals. happi is also a kind of kimono worn for dancing. * 5 - Awa Odori is a dance native to Shikoku and the South of Japan. Bon Odori is a seasonal Dance for the Bon Festival in August. The eel scooping dance is very famous as well, I'm sure you've seen it, just try to imagine scooping eels. Ewww.
