Glay: Mata Koko de Aimashou

02.9.21
Artist: Glay
Title: Mata Koko de Aimashou (Let's Meet Here Again)
Words: Takuro
Music: Takuro

If you feel like seeing me, come here again, ok
you'll notice the warmth in between the lines of chit chat *1
if you get lonely come see me again, ok
I'll go, yes, go to that place I promised to
with an undying prayer

The lively city is soon to darken into dusk *2
with eyes more cloudy than clear, sat there for what felt like forever

a love with no place to go, everyday lame
wearing a sweaty shirt, I smelled the Spring
faintly on the otherside of the window

If you feel like seeing me, come here again, ok
If you can't find where you put your strained glass heart
If you get lonely come see me again, ok
if those bonds are gathering the sighs in the darkness with no answers

my pocket is overflowing with hasty kindness
with my burst dream, sat there for what felt like forever

the map still blank
how can I face that day I made an oath. *3
nothing makes the tears hidden behind my precious one's smile
more glorious.

If you feel like you want to see me, come here again, ok
if stopping and running away are also a type of courage
If you feel like crying, if you get sad
the city is blue, I'll protect you from all those things that hurt you. *4

if you feel like seeing me, I'll go to you

if you feel like seeing me

Translated By: Brian Stewart & Takako Sakuma

Translator's Notes: Apparently when Takuro wrote this song he was thinking of Glay's fans from the north of Japan. Wanting to give them a message with his song. On to the *'s.

*1 - fushibushi refers not to the pauses in the conversation like it may sound, but to the very warmth hidden in the word themselves. The Japanese means "inbetween lines"

*2 - This is a fancy way of saying that the city grows dark. It implies however that, the mood of the city not only the light becomes less bright as well.

*3 - we've seen blank maps in Glay songs before. I believe one comes up in Glorious. It represents a future full of possiblity. I think this line is an answer to the more forward looking "Glorious" because the singer havingnot lived up to his possibilty, wonders how he can face himself when he has broken a promise to himself.

*4 - The city is blue, may be one of two things... either it means immature or, it refers to the life returning to the city. It seems to carry a positive meaning so perhaps the latter.
